ABOUT ME
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics on the Teaching Scholar Track at Brown University School of Public Health.
Prior to Brown, I served as Visiting Faculty in the Department of Biostatistics at the NYU School of Global Public Health. Before that I was an Assistant Professor (Research) with the Department of Pediatrics, Warren Alpert Medical School, and Senior Biostatistician with the Center for Statistical Sciences, Brown University School of Public Health. I was involved with leading the design and analysis of clinical and translational research with investigators affiliated with the Advance-CTR, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and Women & Infants Hospital. I am passionate about teaching, mentoring, student and community outreach, and research.
In 2024, I was selected for the Sheridan Junior Faculty Teaching Fellows program at Brown University. I have been serving as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Statistics and Data Science Education since 2024.
In 2022, I was selected for the Center for Improving Care Delivery for the Aging (CICADA) Scholars program at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2020, I was selected as a fellow in the NIH NHLBI PRIDE Research in Implementation Science for Equity (RISE) fellow program at the University of California, San Francisco.
I earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, and a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University. I subsequently completed an NIH T32 postdoctoral fellowship in statistical genetics and obesity in the Department of Biostatistics and NIH-funded Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
